This SKULL and two MANDIBLES (jaws) along with the five feotal (unborn baby) bones are from the same Ice age COW Bison antiquus occidentalis. They have been stained to beautiful dark reddish brown colors by the peat/clay of the bog in which they lay for thousands of years.

This type of Bison have been extinct about 5000 years ago. It lived only on the American Country.

The cows teeth are not very well worn and she's missing three pre-molars. The incisor teeth were never found. Based on tooth wear patterns as compared to modern Bison, the animal would have been in her prime at about five to six years old when she died.

The five Feotal bones we recovered consist of the left frontal (skullcap) bone, the left maxilla w/teeth, the right first rib and a large left (probably the 6th or 7th) rib. These fetal bones were found in direct associatoin with the remains of the cow skull.

These fossils have been found in the year 1989 in Anoka County, Minnesota, USA. The exact location (including the exact GPS-informations) will be told to the buyer after the end of transaction.

Regarding the size of the skull: Spread of horn cores at outside of curve (strait line maximum) is about 53 cm. The length of the face (measured from the nose to the forehead is about 48 cm.

Such excellent female Bison antiquus occidentalis skulls are extremely rare. This is absolutely one of the finest cow (female) Bison antiquus occidentalis skulls in existence! A once in a lifetime!
