Here we offer something special. It is a right side jaw of a juvenile Cave Bear Ursus spelaeus which was found in the pleistocene age layers of a cave near Hösch in Germany.

It is a very interesting one as it tells a story, it clearly shows bite marks. So it seems that this poor little bear was the dinner of some carnivore like wolf or hyena... or maybe another bear?... At the front you can see two round shaped holes and on the back side the associated "chew" marks... The holes can be seen clearly on the pics, the chew marks look better in real than on the pics.

The fossil comes from an old collection, it was found in the year 1986. The length is about 21,5 cm.

The jaw is unbroken and has no manipulations at all. All the teeth are original and nothing has been restored.
